PULSE is the student ministry of Denver Baptist Church, a safe environment where students from grades 6th - 12th can learn about what it means to be an follower of Jesus. After viewing this site, if you still have questions, our youth pastor, Michael Salanik, would love to connect with you.
On Sunday evenings, we host PULSE LIVE, our weekly teaching series led by our Youth Pastor, Michael Salanik. This event features, praise and worship, fun activities, and an inspiring, gospel-focused message. On Wednesdays, our high-school students meet for small groups in members' homes to forge real community and to dive deeper into the word. Our junior high students gather on our west campus for their mid-week gathering.
Sunday mornings all students will gather in the High School boys room from 9:15-9:30am to hang out, grab a quick snack and go over announcements with Michael before going to their individual classrooms. We would like to have the Parents sign up on a rotation basis to provide lite snacks each week (muffins, pastries, donuts, fruit, etc.).

DEAR STUDENTS & PARENTS...
It is my joy and honor to come alongside you and your family as you seek to follow Christ together. As a leadership team, our goal is to partner with parents in the teaching and training of their students. Our prayer is that as students are exposed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and learn how to live in light of it, they will be empowered to shape the cultures around them, learn how to walk in unity with others in the faith, and “work out their own salvation with fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12).” Each student is presented the opportunity to receive training in evangelism and to put it to use on local and/or global mission trips. The heartbeat of the PULSE student ministry is to “connect students and parents to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to grow together through fellowship and discipleship.”
Pastor of Student Ministries
Michael and his wife, Meredith, met and grew together spiritually through the Campus Outreach ministry at UNC-Greensboro, where they attended college. It was there that they developed a strong call to reach students and to disciple them. Later on, Michael served as an intern at Freedom Church in Lincolnton, NC, receiving training in church development and youth ministry. In December of 2014, Michael answered the call to serve as Pastor of Student Ministries at Denver Baptist Church. He is currently pursuing a Master’s of Divinity degree at Southeastern Theological Seminary.
